  • LAZARUS, PERES and POLLARD

We have been torn with the iniquity dealt unto Jonathan Pollard and we have added our prayers to the many for his release and his freedom. We watched to see the hand of George W. Bush which was able to offer an outgoing President’s Pardon. We saw no such pardon and our eyes are not blinded to the cause.

    Pollard & Peres AP

    Luke 16

19   There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20   And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21   And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
    22   And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23   And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24   And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25   But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26   And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27   Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:
28   For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29   Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30   And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31   And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Much has been spoken of the presidency of George W. Bush and a great deal of what was said was absolute rubbish. History will reveal him to have been one of the most decisive and effective US Presidents. History will also reveal him to be among the most badly treated by the ubiquitous ‘Media’ and by the People of the USA.

It’s fair comment that Bush’s tongue lolling verbal antics revealed him to be, as is common among humankind, his own worst enemy. Nevertheless, for all his droll slips of the tongue, this man did well in the face of mass trauma which descended upon Humanity ‘On His Watch’.

Many of the commonly agreed shortcomings of his rule are figments of the media which became self-sustaining. For instance, in the two YEARS interval between Bush announcing the need to vanquish Saddam and the actual entry of the ‘Coalition of the Willing’, many square miles of weapons and chemicals stockpiles could have readily been trucked out of Iraq. Subsequent events indicate recipients likely included Libya, Syria and even Iran. We consider the extended period of preparation during which the armed forces for the invasion were massed were singularly instructive, both to the USA and to her enemies.

Effective land-force implantation is not an overnight event.

There will never again be a large scale ‘blitzkrieg’ as in some past events. Even the Russian antics in Georgia were extremely limited on global scales and the significance there was the apparent frailty of Russian military might. It must have been embarrassing for Putin to watch his tinpot armour teetering along village lanes and streets!

So lessons have been learned from Bush’s presidency and History will record the greatness of his vision and the staunchness of his Truth.

Sadly, all this was undone on his final day in office.

Each of us must pass beyond the veil of death as the sum total of our exercise of Agency. We are eternally what we choose to think, say and do. We are eternally marked by what we choose to think, say and do in this Mortal Moment called Time.

We cannot know who gave what advice to George W. Bush in his last hours and days in office but we know he decided not to release Jonathan Pollard from prison.

Quite aside from what is touted in the media, who usually lie, Jonathan pollard is in prison because ‘important people’ say that he passed to Israel the names of all the CIA agents in Russia, about 40, who were wiped out by the KGB having supposedly been tipped off by Russian moles in the Israeli secret service. The facts are that Pollard was not the one. Two other Russian spies imbedded in Washington obtained the information and passed it to their bosses.

But among those who chose to hang the blame on Jonathan Pollard was Shimon Peres. Peres was the one who provided Israeli evidence supposedly used against Pollard. The actual charges were kept secret because they were so embarrassing to the Washington hierarchy but Pollard was chosen as the one who would walk.

As the twenty four years of Jonathan Pollard’s imprisonment have passed, all has been revealed among the security echelons but such is the nature of the wealthy high-flyers behind the scenes that Pollard has been kept behind bars on a convenient lie.

It has been suggested that Shimon Peres, in his present political post as Israel’s President, is the right person to intercede for the release of Pollard.

Peres put Pollard where he is.

It has been suggested that Peres prefers to wait until the sickening Pollard dies and then to honour him posthumously.

Peres put Pollard where he is.

George W. Bush cannot be unaware of these matters and being an honest man, it is acceptable to believe he could have released Pollard ‘on any excuse’.

George W. Bush kept Jonathan Pollard in prison to please his wealthy and influential associate Shimon Peres.

Long may they both stand upon the brink of that impassable gulf, craving to join Jonathan Pollard, who might rest in the Bosom of Abraham, yet they shall not pass.
